![]() After serving as the editor of the publication Camera Notes, he published his own journal, Camera Work, which evolved from a showcase for the Photo-Secession to a forum for international modern art of all media. Stieglitz’s formidable activity as a publisher and a gallerist paralleled that of his work as an artist. His later work, too, contained multiple meanings, whether a photograph of dying poplars at his family estate in Lake George that doubled as a meditation on human mortality or of New York City skyscrapers that embodied progress and modernity. He saw these as music in pictures, asserting that visual art could be as emotional and nonrepresentational as music. This approach is especially apparent in the dozens of views he made of his wife, Georgia O’Keeffe, which Stieglitz called a single “composite portrait.” Starting in 1922, Stieglitz also made nearly abstract photographs with studies of clouds he called Equivalents. In his portraits of fellow artists he sought to represent their psychology and not merely their likeness. This directness was echoed in his use of photographic papers such as platinum, palladium, and later, gelatin silver prints. During this early part of his career, Stieglitz also favored carbon printing, which produced deep tones and a soft, drawing-like quality.īeginning around 1910, Stieglitz embraced more direct and straightforward images, moving away from a painterly, impressionistic approach. ![]() He printed these images initially as photogravures to emphasize atmospheric effects later, when he published his fine art journal Camera Work, he insisted on lush, tipped-in photogravures for the images. After studying photography in Europe in the 1890s, Stieglitz came home to New York and turned his camera to the streets and buildings of a rapidly changing city. He even served as a juror for the very first photography exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago, held in 1900. A trailblazing photographer, Alfred Stieglitz vigorously championed photography as a fine art and established its value as modern art in America through his own work, the journals he published, and the shows he held at his influential New York galleries.

On both cards, a 3% fee - or $10, whichever is greater - is charged for cash advances. So if transferring a large amount - $1,000 or more - is a concern, the Chase Freedom card is the better choice. In addition to this more forgiving APR period, Chase is more likely to take on larger balances, as it tends to give card owners much higher credit limits than Capital One does. However, the Chase Freedom offers a 15-month 0% APR on transferred balances compared to the Capital One Quicksilver's 12-month 0% APR period. With both cards sporting similar APRs - these cards' balance transfer APRs fall within the same range as their regular APRs - it might seem as though there is no clear winner between the two. For example, if a card owner transfers $1,000 onto either card, an additional $30 will be added to the newly transferred balance for the cost of the service. The Capital One Quicksilver and Chase Freedom cards apply the same 3% charge on all transferred balances. The Chase Freedom's penalty APR is 29.99% compared to the Capital One Quicksilver's 29.4%. The penalty APR on these cards is nearly identical. When a card owner's account is delinquent for 60 days or more, both card companies will apply a "penalty APR" to whatever balance is on the card. Capital One's Quicksilver card gives owners interest rates between 12.99% and 22.99%, while owners of the Chase Freedom card are given interest rates between 13.99% and 22.99%. They convert a larger percentage of electrical energy into visible light, resulting in minimal energy wastage compared to traditional lighting technologies.īefore diving into the installation process, it’s crucial to follow specific guidelines for a successful setup. LED flood lights are highly energy-efficient. This helps maintain optimal operating temperatures, preventing overheating and ensuring the longevity of the lights. LED flood lights incorporate heat sinks or cooling systems to manage the heat generated by the LEDs. This directional lighting minimizes wastage and ensures the light is focused on the intended area. Unlike traditional bulbs that emit light in all directions, LED flood lights are designed to emit light in a specific direction. This control allows for precise adjustments in brightness levels, dimming capabilities, and even color-changing features. LED flood lights have electronic circuits that regulate the flow of electricity to the LEDs. The movement of electrons within the semiconductor material of the LED generates photons, producing visible light. Wow, my posts never get so many resonses. ![]() Any thoughts on that? Do you guys think we did it backwards? I'd love to hear your ideas. We've talked about adding some kind of toggle that would allow you to choose which behavior you prefer. In the end, we thought it would be *more* frustrating to have every instance in the model update instead of just the one you scaled. I think you can imagine what the arguments on both sides were. So the question became: "If I have 3 DCs in a model, and I scale one of them, should all of them update? Or should only the one I scaled?" We wanted DCs to follow the rules of SketchUp as much as possible. ScottLininger wrote:There was a lot of debate about this before launch. I'm thinking that the new type of components sizes to fit the size of each individual component it replaces.Īlso: is there a way to work out if two components derives from the same DC? I'd quite like to incorporate into my Selection Toys plugins a method that allows you to select all components of the same family type. ![]() It would be very nice to select just the windows I'd like to replace and have them updated with another type. The DC's are the same family (derived form the same DC, but different sizes). Say, I want to change all the windows on one floor with a different type. However, it would be a great addition if you could replace a DC family with another. With DC's I can set up one DC, which defines the style and rules for how the object should look. I work for an architectural office making visualisations.īefore DC's I had to make a unique component for each window size, even though they where the same family. At least in my work it's a great benefit. In the Other Uses section, you’ll see how an internal array can be used to space pickets of a fence.I don't think that every instance should update. In this example, you’ll use construction lines to place the first and last windows in a row, and then use the forward slash format to place more windows in between. Construction lines are created with the Tape Measure tool. To help you align your copies, you can use construction lines, which are temporary guide lines that can easily be erased or hidden when you’re finished with them. (The forward slash symbol denotes division.) For example, if you make a copy of an object 20 feet away, and then type 4/ and press Enter, you will have five objects (four copies plus one original), with four equal spaces of 5 feet each in between copies. The format for placing a specific number of copies between two objects is to enter the desired number of copies, followed by the / (forward slash) symbol. In this scenario, you know where the first and last objects are located, and want to space objects evenly between them. (You need to only tap the key you don’t have to keep it pressed.) You should see a + sign on the cursor symbol. Right-click on a selected face and choose Make Component.Īssign a component name, and be sure to select “Replace selection with component.”Īctivate Move and press the Ctrl/Option key. To pull out the window frame, activate Push/Pull and press Ctrl (Option on the Mac) and pull out the frame face. Make it small enough so that several rows and columns of windows can fit in the wall. In the lower-left corner of the front wall, draw the basic window shape by using a rectangle and an arc, erasing the dividing line between them. Paint the front and back faces, if you want.
